An Artists' Life

The everyday life of me, an aging NH artist. I live in the woods at the top of a mountain, which was a dream when I was younger, and now is a lonely reality, hard to walk these steep hills, and few people to chat with along the way. So I grow more introspective and have begun to paint again everyday. I spend my days with Maxx and LuLu, two very interesting dogs, and my husband Stevie.

An Artists' Life

To start with, a new URL, which the why of is too boring for words. Hopefully, it brought you here for an update on Maxx, for one thing; he is cured. He was so ill during the last entry, we were caring for him day and night. But we have our little miracle here safe and sound. He still barks in my face as his favored manner of communication, and that is fine with me. However he chooses to let me know what he needs, as long as he lets me know!

He is enjoying his convalescense - and I cannot spell, so please to forgive - very much. Being fed canned food for one thing, he thinks he is in heaven. And if he has trouble getting the parts that get stuck in the corners of his dish, why, I get a spoon, and feed it to him. Oh he is pretty well taken care of. And he loves his new 'tonic', as does LuLu, a mixture of vitamins and minerals in a liquid form for dogs. For every treat that Maxx receives, so must LuLu, for it only seems fair. How can she know he needs this TLC, whereas she only wants whatever he gets, and vice versa as well. You are thinking, hm, like toddlers? Yes, exactly.

And I should know, after my eight day vacation in Rhode Island. Our wonderful little granddaughters are growing up all too fast to make me happy, although everytime I see them they have something new and funnier than ever to tell me or show me. ZZ (used to be Esme, if you recall, but she re-named herself, being the coolest kid on earth) is always making up new dances, and Baya often plays music for her to dance. However there is another source of music, they both take off, leaving me weak with giggles. They are very physical in their moves; No one has taught them to be graceful or dainty, and so they are strickly all natural. They are so wonderful to watch, I have thought of them as the "Baya and Esme Show" for 2 1/2 years now.

This visit I learned they not only entertain their family, but will entertain anyone nearby who seems to be paying attention to them. ZZ is quite a little show girl, and according to her, will be an actress. According to her, she already is! Why doesn't that surprise me? She is hilarious, and a source of constant trials to her poor parents. Ha, they get to live with her and laugh all the time.

Now Baya, there is a smootcher for you. But not all. We loved playing tents last week very much. Baya would 'sneak' into her nanas' bed in the morning, or night for that matter, and we would play tents with blankets and little flashlights. Baya and ZZ have inherited my love of flashlights and are building up a nice little collection of them. You just can't really have enough.

Me. What about me. This blog is called An Artists' Life and I am having the best time, having just started digital painting. After being told about this medium, if that is what you'd call it, I have bought myself what I needed to do this, and have done about 24 paintings. I love working this way, but have one problem so far. I can't figure out how to get them to upload onto Blogspot, here in other words. Part of why I started a new blog. And also, who cares to read what I did a year ago?

I decided every year I would delete my blog and start another one. Because it isn't like my journals, kept since oh, I was about 15. Filled with writing and drawing, who knows what to do with that clutter, but this is easy to just delete. I write to share, but after all, how many times can anyone read this stuff???
